THE NORTHERN EYE 2024
(the inbetweener…)
INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL
COLWYN BAY - SATURDAY 23rd / SUNDAY 24th NOVEMBER
9.30am - 5.45pm / 9.30 - 4pm
Our popular North Wales based biennial photography festival is usually hosted in the town Colwyn Bay on the odd years, we’re a friendly festival that kind of likes being a little ‘odd’, different and non-exclusive with an overarching desire to champion photography and widen it’s reach, so that suits us well…
However, we couldn’t wait to welcome you back to our full festival next year in 2025, so picking up the torch after the unfortunate news of the postponement this year of Aberystwyth's 'Eye Festival', we have assembled a first-class selection of speakers and guests for an immersive weekend of photography here in Colwyn Bay this November.
This is in addition to our usual biennial festival and will be held in a smaller venue with less than our normal capacity - please bear this in mind if you plan to join us this year as tickets are limited.
This year, a special Speaker’s Weekend will take place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th NOVEMBER and will be held in the PORTH EIRIAS building on Colwyn Bay prom.
We are excited to now confirm another fabulous mix of speakers for 2024.
Full weekend tickets are available now - £40 (Student £35)
SPEAKERS WEEKEND
Saturday 23rd / Sunday 24th november
Unfortunately, due to Illness, Billie Charity will not be speaking at this year’s festival. Rob Law will now be presenting on the Sunday instead of Billie. We wish Billie a speedy recovery.
In addition to our engaging speakers weekend, we are excited to announce that we will also be hosting our inaugural Photobook and Zine event. This special gathering aims to encourage the sharing of both published and self-published books and zines among participants.
We believe this will create a wonderful opportunity for creators to showcase their work and connect with like-minded individuals.
Bring along your own photobooks/zines along to share/sell.
Social
The Northern Eye is renowned for its exceptionally friendly social atmosphere, and you will be thrilled to know that this year will be no different!
Our beloved Saturday night social event, ‘Curry Night,’ is making a welcome return, offering a wonderful opportunity to connect with speakers and fellow attendees in a fun and informal setting. Additionally, we’re excited to announce that we are currently working on a new social element for those staying over on the Sunday evening. Further details will be shared with all ticket holders as we get closer to the event.
